Set up and the Shot:

JLO Beautyโ€™s Glow + Get It Hydrating Mist โœจ

Letโ€™s be honest โ€” not all beauty products shine on camera. But when you're working with something like JLO Beautyโ€™s Glow + Get It Mist, you want that hydration and iridescence to leap off the screen. Here's how we pulled it off with just one light, a couple of mirrors, and a whole lot of intention.

The Light Setup ๐Ÿ’ก

We kept it simple with a single diffused softbox, placed at a 45-degree angle behind and slightly above the product. The goal? Backlighting the mist to enhance its natural shimmer โ€” that โ€œjust sprayed, just glowedโ€ effect.

This positioning also created a light halo around the product, giving it an ethereal, elevated look โ€” especially key when showcasing skincare thatโ€™s all about glow.

Reflecting the Radiance โœจ

To sculpt the light even more, we used small handheld mirrors and angled acrylic sheets to bounce and redirect light toward the front and sides of the bottle. This helped bring out the iridescent highlights in both the mist and the packaging โ€” without flattening or overexposing the image.

Hot tip: Adjusting mirror angles by even half an inch can completely change how light hits a shiny surface. Take your time and tweak with patience.

Styling That Supports the Shine ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ

We shot on a neutral satin background to echo the sleekness of the packaging without distracting. A light spritz of actual product in front of the lens added soft droplets and a tactile sense of mist-in-motion.

We also tilted the product slightly toward the key light โ€” just enough to catch reflections, not glare.

Final Touches ๐ŸŽž๏ธ

Shot on a DSLR with a macro lens and a locked focus on the mist cloud, the footage was slowed down slightly in post to draw attention to the suspended droplets and luminous trail. A gentle warm tone grade sealed in that JLO-level glow.
